Principal Jennifer Heeter

Ms. Heeter brings a wealth of experience and passion for education, having supported youth both in and out of the classroom for decades. She earned her B.A. in Environmental Studies from Prescott College and has held diverse roles, including AmeriCorps volunteer, Licensed Boat Captain, and nature center docent. 

Her teaching journey began after she obtained her state teaching credential and two Montessori credentials. She has worked in the Long Beach Unified School District and was a founding teacher at Urban Montessori Charter School, where she also served in various leadership roles. From 2019 to 2022, she led Hayward Twin Oaks Montessori School as Principal. 

Ms. Heeter holds an M.A. in Social Justice and Community Organizing from Prescott College. She has also contributed to the field by coaching and teaching new educators at the University of San Francisco and Alder Graduate School of Education.

Committed to creating safe, healthy, and strengths-based school environments, Ms. Heeter strives to ensure that every student can reach their full potential. She resides in Oakland, California, with her family and enjoys traveling, dancing, playing drums, cooking, and spending time outdoors.
